THE ONE TIME I TOLD A HUGE LIE AND KINDA GOT AWAY WITH IT

To be honest, I'm not much of a liar, I can't lie. The corner of my lip twitches, or I laugh, or I can't keep eye contact with the person I'm lying to. So whats the point in lying when I can't get away with it? Due to this, I'm going to tell you a lie I told when I was in like, year 2 maybe. So I was about 6?

Anyway, in my primary school, the teachers did this thing were if you needed the toilet, you moved your name from a board onto the toilet space so they knew where they were and if another kid could go or not. This one time I needed the toilet and being the impatient person I am, I went to ask the teacher if I could go the toilet. They looked at the board and saw that another girl was there so they said no and I went away in a huff..

I then came up with this plan which was to move the girls name off of the board even though she wasn't back and ask again. So I did it and then went to ask again and as the teacher looked at the board, they saw there was no name so they said yes. I put my name on the toilet spot and went. Now when I got back, the teacher pulled me aside and started having a go at me because I went to the toilet the same time as somebody else. I mean, how could you shout at me for needing the toilet? Geez.

Anyway, our school had this system that if you were good all week and had no "consequences" you got a little certificate at the end of the week saying well done. (I got 2 consequences throughout my whole time at primary.) The teacher gave me a consequence and wrote my name on the board, I can't remember if i cried or not, I probably did..

At the end of the week, everyone who had no consequences got their certificates and there was me with no certificate. When my mum and dad picked me up, they were like "where's your certificate?" and I just said, "I put it in my bag already.." (ANOTHER LIE!?) and walked to the car with them.

I know its not a huge lie and now I just laugh at it, but at the time I probably cried and felt really bad about lying to my mum and dad, cause I was pretty much a nerd and loved being the teachers pet.. :S

THEME 3 - MY FAVOURITE RECIPE

So we’re onto day 2 of my holiday.. Yesterday I went back to the cottage from the pub at around 10/11pm and just got in bed with my laptop and watched a film, Abduction to be precise. I love it. Maybe because it has Taylor Lautner in who’s just gorgeous and it also has Lily Collins in and she’s one of my favourite actresses so, I LOVE IT!

My parents got home I don’t even know when but my dad fell over or something and now his ear is all cut up and there’s blood on his pillows.. None of us know how it happened :S

ANYWAY

The theme today is my favourite recipe.. Now at home I don’t get the chance to cook a lot but from watching my mum cook, I have one favourite.. The recipe isn’t all DIY so it’s pretty simple if you want to try it yourself!

To be more specific the meal is CHICKEN CURRY (my favourite food!) and what you’ll need is:

  • ·       A can of Heinz Chicken Soup (or more than 1 depending on the amount of people. My mum uses 1 and it feeds 4 of us well so.
  • ·       A chicken! OR chicken fillets. Easy enough to get, cooked or uncooked from your closest supermarket.
  • ·       An Onion
  • ·       Mushrooms
  • ·       Rice (or chips OR both!)
  • ·       Curry Powder! Buy some in or make your own, its up to you. Brand doesn’t matter just get one that you like!
  • ·       A Pan
  • ·       A Frying Pan
  • ·       Oven (For Chips and/or if cooking chicken yourself)
  • ·       Microwave Oven (for rice)

That’s all you need! I’m going to do the recipe for cooked chicken so all you’ll need to do extra is cook the chicken previous and add it in when it says J

  1. 1.     Peel and cut up Mushrooms and Onions (whatever shape and size you like)
  2. 2.     Fry them off so they’re cooked!
  3. 3.     Get pan and pour Heinz Chicken Soup into it and heat until warm/hot.
  4. 4.     Add Mushrooms and Onions to Soup and stir in.
  5. 5.     Add Curry Powder to the mixture and stir until there is an equal spread of powder.
  6. 6.     Add in the chicken and stir until all of the chicken is covered with the mixture.
  7. 7.     Heat until you have your desired temperature.
  8. 8.     Put rice in the microwave and cook for right amount of time. (Do the same for chips in the oven if you’re having them.
  9. 9.     Plate it up and ENJOY!

I love this recipe because it’s so simple and I think it tastes amazing as well. I think its perfect for if you’re in Uni because it’s simple and fast!

THEME 2 - THE WORST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN AND WHY

Like the last post, the beginning of this post is going off on a little tangent.. I'm currently sat in the porch of a cottage, in the middle of nowhere, stealing the pub next door's wifi..

We set off at 1am this morning and went to the ferry terminal in Liverpool where we had to wait about an hour and a bit.. This would have been fine, I mean, we had music, food, drinks.. But of course I was the one who had the bladder of a 3 year old at the time and I really needed a wee.. NO TOILETS TO BE SEEN! So I spent most of the time waiting to get on the ferry dancing in the back seat of the car..

As soon as we got on the boat, we got our cabin keys and went straight to bed.. It was cold, loud and /SO/ uncomfortable. I slept maybe an hour in full over the 6 hour sail.. When we woke up, my dad went to get breakfast while me and my mum got ready and by that time we were nearly in Dublin Port. When we finally got to the port, the boat was already 15 minutes late.. To add to that, we had to wait another 45 minutes waiting for someone to open the door to let us back to the cars. So we were all pretty p*ssed about that. When we finally got off of the boat we had a 4-5 hour car journey ahead of us and my god.. The only reason I'm sane at the moment is because I was listening to music..

We finally got to our destination at around 4:25pm and the first thing we did after putting the bags in was go to the pub and say hi to everyone we know here.. Me and my mum went a different pub after a while and we had Chicken Curry Half and Half (chips and rice) and went back to the pub where my dad was. At the moment, my parents are now sleeping while I'm writing this post, sitting in the conservatory of a little cottage, stealing somebody else's Wi-Fi.. Muahahahaha!

ANYWAY - ON TO THE THEME!

The second themed post will be about the worst movie I've ever seen and why.. Now I think this one is quite difficult because I don't think I've ever seen a movie which I've literally hated..

My mum hates The Matrix because she somehow doesn't understand the story..

My brother hates The Hunger Games (the b*stard) just because I love it..

I don't think my dad hates any films really..

But for me, I think I'd have to go for Team America.. You know the puppet one? I have nothing against puppets, I used to love watching Captain Scarlet and the Thunderbirds puppet version but something about Team America seriously grinds my gears. Maybe its the fact that my brother finds it hilarious how the producers have tried to make the puppets have sex and I'll just be sitting there like, "What the actual f*ck!?" It doesn't even have a storyline! Thunderbirds, they're a family who save the world.. Captain Scarlet's storyline I can't remember for the life of me, but Team America? No. So yeah, I think its safe to say that Team America is the worst movie I've ever seen..

Anyone agree with me? Anybody disagree with me? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic and your reasons for them!

THEME 1 - SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER

Just a little foreword here.. I'm going on holiday in 4 hours and 22 minutes.. WOO!

Anyway, the first themed post from lists I made yesterday is - "SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER"

Now thinking about it, not many "big" things happened to me while I was in high school.. I suppose I could say that I had my "first" boyfriend and stuff but most of the relationships I had while there never lasted longer than a month or two so I don't really know if the guys count as "proper" boyfriends..

Life changing wise though I can only really think of 2 things.. One, the whole dilemma I had a while ago where none of my friends spoke to me for a week.. That was pretty life changing because it made me realise that you can't always depend on your friends, and that you really can't trust anyone.. I was so used to depending on them to made me laugh and to make me happy and then they just weren't there, it was weird. So that was pretty life changing because it made me look at things differently and to be honest I think it was a change for the better.

The other life changing thing was applying for the apprenticeship with Unilever.. I did it while I was in an IT lesson, supposed to be doing my work. I'd just decided i didn't want to go to uni anymore so I was looking on the apprenticeship website and I found it. So I applied, not thinking I'd get anyway from it and before I know it, I was in the next stage of the application.. Then the next, and then the next, then the next again and finally I was in the last stage with 9 other people, basically competing for 1 of 5 apprenticeships they were offering. After the final assessment day I waited a week and as it turns out, I GOT IT! So that was pretty life changing because now I definitely know that if you work your butt of for something and don't give up, you'' most likely get the outcome you want. :)

There's a lesson in life from Jenny, people! ;)

Anything happen while you were in High School that was life changing for you? If so, what is it? I'd love to hear your stories. :)£
